The following Tuition Assistance opportunities exist for families wanting a catholic education for their children: B.E.F.
The Bishop’s Education Fund This program is available to children in K to 8th year who are baptized Catholic, whose family is eligible for low-income benefits, and whose child is enrolled in our school. Your
Pastor’s signature is needed on the PSAS application. S.O.S. Scholastic Opportunity Scholarship Fund This
program is available to every student in preschool through 8th year who
has completed an PSAS application and
is enrolled at Holy Child Catholic.
You
are eligible if you claim:
1 dependent and
maximum income is $60,000.
2 dependents and
maximum income is $70,000.
3 dependents and
maximum income is $80,000.
4 dependents and
maximum income is $90,000. Special consideration
will be given for unusual circumstances if you are over the limit.
(see the PSAS application) Families who are eligible for the Proof that you have completed a
PSAS application will be helpful when submitting your request for
assistance. Whether or not
they have declared your family eligible please let us know you have
applied. If you did not meet the financial
criteria to apply for the BEF
and / or the SOS, but
need help, please write a letter to the Pastor or Principal requesting
tuition assistance. Families with a child in preschool, who are eligible for the SOS, can expect to have the total cost of preschool tuition paid next year through the SOS Fund. If you have your own
business your “adjusted
income” may put you in the right income bracket for the BEF or SOS. Other grants: The
Catherine McAuley Fund The
Catherine McAuley Fund … begun by The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas to help those families who are working to keep there children in
Catholic
elementary schools. The
monies set aside each year by the Sisters of Mercy will be awarded to
applicants who are enrolled in a school that is staffed by (or was staffed
by at one time) Sisters of Mercy. HCC
has been a Mercy school since 1947! The
Holy Child Catholic Angel Fund The Holy Child Catholic Angel Fund
is also available to families needing tuition assistance F.S.F.
Fair Share Fund Raising Once the family has reached their
fair share fundraising quota, they can continue in the programs and a
percentage of the profit will be credited to the family's tuition
balance. No special applications are necessary, just the family's
decision to continue supporting the fund raising programs. Opportunities include: You decide which fund
raisers you want to support! 2006 - 2007 Registration News We have started registering for the 2006
– 2007 school year! We are
happy to report that there are several scholarship / tuition assistance
opportunities available for families enrolling in preschool through 8th
year here at HCC. New in 2005 – 2006 is the availability of
SOS scholarship monies for PRESCHOOL!
We are told that families that meet the criteria for SOS
scholarship grants can expect to have as much as 100% of preschool tuition
covered in 2006-2007! SOS funds continue to be available to
children in K to 8 who apply. Thanks
to Bridgeville Appliance, Burg’s Pizza and Wings’ and NorthWest
Savings Bank, who made donations to the SOS fund in our name, larger
scholarships were given out in 2005 – 2006 to
28 eligible children than we were able to provide in 2004 – 2005! Great Beginnings Last a Lifetime …..
